The Finance Analyst of Insurance Operations is a hybrid position within the Philadelphia office. The role is responsible for providing operational support to the Insurance Operations team from preparing matter budgets, assisting with the coordination of billing & collections activities, financial reporting, etc. This position reports to the Manager of Finance Insurance Operations.
Responsibilities:
Provide support to the insurance department, including matter budgeting and establishing various financial and non-financial metrics, and then managing against those, recommending corrective action where necessary
Submitting matter budgets to ebilling websites in accordance with client requirements
Coordinate with attorneys to proactively manage matters in accordance with insurance client guidelines
Collections on balances past due via direct phone calls and emails to customers
Maintain accurate history of attempts to contact clients and records discussions in the Firm’s collection software
Monitor ebilled invoice workflow and assist in helping reduce reductions
Assist with various client requests for additional information on invoices as well as providing copies of past due
Assist with projects to streamline processes as they relate to insurance operations
Assist integration efforts for onboarding of insurance clients, matters, rates, etc.
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree is required (finance, accounting, or business related field)
3+ years of progressive financial experience (preferably within a professional services environment or collections environment)
Strong excel experience is required; experience with business intelligence and budgeting tools, and utilizing large amounts of data is preferred
Strong quantitative abilities and problem-solving skills with ability to factor in qualitative aspects of an engagement to drive business decision making
Strong analytical and communication skills, initiative, and accuracy are a must
Customer service-oriented and professional demeanor required
An understanding of basic insurance principals is not required but preferred
