Health System Quality Intelligence Analyst

Analytics Department is looking for top skilled Health System Quality Intelligence Analyst. Is that you?

Work location: Southwestern Health Resources Headquarters, 1601/1603 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway, Farmers Branch, TX 75234.

Work environment: Analytics Department.

Please note: The Health System Quality Intelligence Analyst will be an employee of Southwestern Health Resources (SWHR). SWHR is a clinically integrated network formed by Texas Health Resources (THR) and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW).

Work hours:


  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Monday - Friday, Day shift.
  • This is a Hybrid position, requiring occasional onsite workdays based on department business needs.
  • In-person attendance required at department meetings, trainings and/or other department authorized activities, at the above-mentioned address or other locations as directed by the department management.
Sign-on Bonus: 5% of Base Pay Rate for eligible external candidates with one-year employment commitment.

Here's What You Need

Education


  • Require Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Computer Science, Health Administration, Quantitative Analysis, or other related fields of study.

  • Prefer Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Computer Science, Health Administration, Quantitative Analysis, or other related fields of study.
Experience

  • Require 3 years' experience in Analytics and Project experience in Data Querying, Statistical Programming and Data Visualization using tools such as SAS, SQL, R, Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
  • Highly prefer experience in Healthcare Data Analytics.
  • Require working knowledge of MS Office Applications.
  • Prefer working knowledge of Process Improvement Methods, Statistical Process Control Techniques and Database Applications.
  • Prefer familiarity with Data Warehouse.
Licenses & Certifications

  • Six Sigma Lean Professional (SSLP) in lieu of 1 year of experience supporting Analytic efforts for Performance Improvement Projects upon hire required, OR,
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (SSGBC) in lieu of 1 year of experience supporting Analytic efforts for Performance Improvement Projects upon hire required, OR,
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification in lieu of 1 year of experience supporting Analytic efforts for Performance Improvement Projects upon hire required.
Skills & Abilities

Work requires aptitude in compiling data including expertise in data tools and knowledge of related databases including all of the following proficiencies:

a) Mastery understanding of some core data sets.

b) Demonstration of significant expertise in the use of SQL/SAS or similar super-user analytic tools.

c) Ability to understand or analyze the current way of doing business and clinical process to support some workflow design and development with resulting data;

d) Utilization of prescriptive/opportunity analysis techniques to create actionable insights from complex data sources.

Must have the ability to understand and deal effectively with problems and opportunities which arise in a complex multiprocessing data environment. Work requires that you are recognized within the broader organization as "a person to ask" when difficult questions arise regarding areas of expertise, and that this analyst is able to:

a) Focus on broad organizational/professional issues.

b) Have capacity in coaching others in the application of this competency by translating complex nuances relating to this competency into easy-to-understand terms.

c) Lead senior level discussions regarding this competency.

Must have the capacity to listen to and understand all audiences, understand how audiences perceive on another, understand and support the communications objective(s), the message itself, and the most appropriate media and format for communication. The analyst must be able to help the organization reach agreement of the desired value proposition through a combination of leadership and facilitation. High-performing analysts understand business sponsor's attitudes and tailor their engagement techniques appropriately. Specifically, this analyst:

a) Builds collaborative relationships.

b) Identifies and utilizes human technical resources to develop and deliver communications; and

c) Presents and discusses final deliverables with team executive.

What You Will Do

Position Responsibilities

  • Working with the Health System Quality Intelligence Manager, the Senior Health System Quality Intelligence Analyst will assist in analytics that serve to identify opportunities for SWHR's quality strategy and identify and implement data management initiatives to support integrity of reporting progress towards the strategy. They consistently complete assignments independently and may supervise, mentor and coach other analysts on the team.
Position Functions

  • Designs and develops predictive and advanced analytics, utilizing multiple data sources simultaneously.
  • Establishes and maintains subject matter data dictionaries, metadata, data definitions and other supporting material that support the overall quality data build and governance.
  • Develops and maintains electronic data capture tools and analytics for error identification, testing and output generation that serve to assure the integrity of quality data.
  • Follows data management standards to ensure analytics and reporting meet various quality initiatives needs while ensuring accuracy and quality of data.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for quality program(s) and provide analytics that leverage these measures programmatically and meaningfully for quality assurance.
  • Generally, organizes, plans, and executes appropriate time management, including scheduling, coordination of resources, and consistent achievements of deadlines. In addition to supporting the successful execution of assignments, this analyst supports the development of effective working relationships with stakeholders by facilitating trust and transparency, this analyst:
  • a) Develops and executes on advanced project plans with realistic goals and timelines; and,
  • b) Designs and recommends analytic approaches and technical methodology.
  • Exhibits analytical thinking and problem solving which reliably involves assessing a situation, understanding them as fully as possible, accurately and completely defining project requirements, and making judgments about possible solutions to a problem. High-performing analysts should be able to quickly uncover needs, prioritize, set an approach, and define criteria for success and execute. Specifically, (critical thinking--applying), this analyst:
  • a) Stores information and retrieves concepts, using them in a meaningful way (diagrams, charts, draw, apply, solve, calculate.
  • b) Demonstrates the ability to integrate information from various sources to make decisions or recommendations; possibly relating the information to what is already known; and,
  • c) Self-initiates goal-directed behavior.
  • Keeps small situations from becoming larger problems.
  • Exhibits confidence and poise when facing tough situations.
  • Seeks mentoring relationships as role broadens.
  • Starts providing mentoring and guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
