Job Description:

Come join a dynamic new national media powerhouse focused on the over-the-air TV consumer. The Scripps Networks provides intelligent news as we use our own distribution platforms to serve this unduplicated national audience. We meet the audience where it is with the programs it wants.

Develops, pitches and produces creative content for news. The producer must have an in-depth understanding of producing interview segments for live news.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Pitches, develops and writes segments relating to news


  • Coordinates with talent, producers and editors for live reporter and guest segments by organizing elements including graphics, video, sound and any necessary components to accomplish the task


  • Responsible for delivering quick-turn, high-priority segments while executing consistently high-quality production value


  • Writes scripts and works with other producers to improve and refine the elements of segments to conform to specific quality standards and time requirements.


  • Works closely with network talent, line producers and editors


  • Creates banners


  • Writes teasers


WHAT YOU'LL BRING:


  • Must be proficient in writing and producing for live television news


  • Ability to cultivate and pitch story ideas and guests


  • Strong ability to oversee and coordinate all creative elements to support live segments


  • Solid experience identifying strong visual skills


  • Must have solid social media experience


  • Strong leadership skills to interface with co-workers and our diverse community


  • Must be able to communicate and meet daily deadlines


  • Proven time management skills


WHAT YOU'LL NEED:


  • Bachelor's degree preferred


  • 3-5 years of experience in television news as a line producer or segment producer


  • Experience pitching and producing live reporter and guest segments
