This position is responsible for the supervision, leadership and mentoring of a group of Pre-Anesthesia Testing Advanced Practice Providers in collaboration with the Manager, CRNA and Anesthesiology Department Chair.
Essential Functions:
Develops, promotes and supervises the NCH PAT Advanced Practice Provider staff reporting to the Manager, CRNA and Department Chair .
Recruits and actively involves new Advanced Practice Provider candidates in the Nemours culture and infrastructure, allowing for mentorship, to include appropriate disciplines.
Ensures that projects are planned, managed and supportive of the long-term range goals to align with enterprise and nursing goals.
Provides strong leadership for staff through education and mentoring.
Fosters an atmosphere that promotes creative productivity and teamwork.
Promotes research to include clinical application and evidence-based practice activities.
Assists in professional goal setting for direct reports in collaboration with Manager, CRNA and Department Chair according to Nemours expectations.
Provides care to pediatric patients as guided by education, clinical expertise and Collaborative Practice or Scope of Practice Agreement, including ambulatory, inpatient (acute) care, pre- and post-operative management.
Elicits comprehensive or focused/interval health history(ies).
Performs complete or interim physical examinations as indicated by the nature of the encounter
Orders, performs, and/or interprets diagnostic or screening tests, including laboratory, radiological or other tests within the APP scope of practice.
Requirements:
Successful completion of Accredited APRN or PA program, National NP or PA Provider Certification within 90 days of employment,
Current Florida Licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA)
AHA BLS and PALS
Five years of pediatric clinical experience (Ambulatory or Acute Care).
