Job Description:

The Senior Analyst - External Financial Reporting is responsible for assisting the Director with the preparation of external financial reporting, specifically filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the implementation, monitoring and reviewing of the Company's internal controls and corporate policies and procedures. This position will also be involved in the monthly close process and assist in technical accounting research related to new transactions and proposed accounting standards.


What you'll do:


Reporting


  • Participate in the monthly consolidated accounting close process, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of designated accounts


  • Prepare and coordinate the filing of SEC periodic reports such as Forms 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K (including managing XBRL requirements), including preparation of consolidated financial statements and associated notes to the financial statements


  • Coordinate with outside legal counsel in the preparation of other SEC filings such as registration statements and proxy statements


  • Respond to and provide support for quarterly and annual external audits


  • Acts as a liaison to other areas of the business on financial reporting questions and issues




Internal Control


  • Review and update current accounting policies and processes and create new accounting policies as necessary


  • Ensure financial statement process area documentation is current and accurate


  • Identify areas of process improvement and assist control owner in implementing changes


  • Respond to and provide support for internal and external audit requests as required


  • Partner with all functional areas to ensure appropriate documentation is in place to validate the effectiveness of the Company's internal controls




Technical Accounting


  • Provide technical accounting assistance on SEC-related issues and research and draft technical accounting memos


  • Examine new US GAAP accounting standards and document and communicate impact to management


  • Investigate, document and resolve complex accounting issues




Other


  • Key stakeholder in conducting the Company's ERM process, including documenting and researching areas of business risk


  • Participate in other special finance/accounting projects


  • Other responsibilities as needed





What we're looking for:



  • 4+ years' experience in top-tier public accounting firms or public company environment; cable or telecommunications accounting experience preferred


  • Experience with financial and accounting reporting systems; specifically, NetSuite and TM1 a plus


  • Experience with SEC filing platforms; Toppan Merrill Bridge a plus


  • Strong and extensive knowledge of SEC Reporting and US GAAP


  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills


  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity, and professionalism


  • Ability to stay knowledgeable about, research and reach well-reasoned conclusions on technical accounting issues


  • SOX and internal controls experience


  • Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks


  • Excellent project managerial and interpersonal skills


  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects required


  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and stress and to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements




Computer Skills:


Word processing, spreadsheets, accounting software, general ledger, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, email, inventory, database software
