Job Summary:



The Project Assistant III will coordinate and support a wide range of administrative support functions, processes and activities for to the Section of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine.


This is an academic discretion position.



Responsibilities:



  • Answer and respond to internal and external calls and visitors, referring them to appropriate area or individual.


  • Distribute mail, order supplies and maintain office area as well as equipment.


  • Analyze and resolve issues of varying complexity.


  • Manage interpersonal relationships and interact/communicate with clarity, tact and courtesy with patrons, patients, staff, faculty, students and others; communicate effectively orally and in writing; identify priorities; recognize and resolve or refer problems; work effectively with supervision and as a part of a team; use or learn a range of position-related software applications.


  • Provide general clerical support to faculty and staff including: assisting with correspondence, presentations, coordinating meetings and making travel arrangements.


  • Screening and detail message taking is of the utmost importance as patients, physicians, and fellows will be calling with critical information.


  • Assist with onboarding/departure of faculty and staff including management of online directory.


  • Assist with financial matters including: purchase orders, invoices, travel reimbursements, and other payment/billing activities.


  • Order supplies (via Internet) for office and laboratories.





Competencies:



  • Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing required.


  • Work effectively with supervision and as a part of a team required.


  • Identify priorities; recognize and resolve or refer problems required.


  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.







Additional Requirements





Education, Experience, or Certifications:




Education:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.


  • Bachelor's degree preferred.





Experience:





  • One to two years of office experience required.


  • Three years of office experience in complex, fast-paced office environment preferred.


  • Hospital or academic medical center experience preferred.





Pay Range:



  • $20.54 - $30.07 hourly
