Finance Regulatory Reporting, AVP at State Street

Who we are looking for

A leader with Basel and/or regulatory reporting experience. An ideal candidate should be able to manage tight regulatory submission timelines, as well as monthly analysis and ad hoc requests that support State Street's strategies. This requires strong technical expertise and the ability to prioritize, effectively communicate, and collaborate with our business partners.

Under the Basel framework, State Street must closely review its financial products and business units to enable the quantification of risk-weighted assets in a manner that will facilitate compliance with the regulations. The Regulatory Capital team you will be joining plays an important role in gathering and analyzing data under a well-controlled environment to ensure compliance with the Basel regulations, accurate reporting, and overall success of the organization.

What you will be responsible for

As an AVP, you will


  • Process monthly workflows, adjustments and reconciliations for Basel III capital calculations and related internal reporting.


  • Complete analytical package to interpret capital results and prepare quarterly presentation packages for senior management and Investor Relations.


  • Prepare quarterly FFIEC 101, FFIEC 102, Pillar 3 Disclosures, FR Y-14Q, FR 2590, and capital sections of SEC reporting (10-K & 10-Q), FR Y-9C and Call Report, and FR Y-15 regulatory filings.


  • Maintain policy and procedure documents, including control execution and attestations, and data governance requirements.


  • Support internal (e.g., audits and assurance) and external (regulator) requests and inquiries.


  • Stay abreast of regulatory and reporting updates, review and interpret guidance.


  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Basel III regulation, calculations and analysis for different products in State Street's portfolio.


  • Participate in on-boarding and implementation of new products (including system updates and UAT), and ongoing enhancement activities and ad hoc projects.

  • Knowledge in GAAP, US Capital Rules (Basel III), and bank financial products, or the ability to proactively acquire such knowledge independently or with minimal supervision/guidance.


  • Strong analysis and quantitative skills.


  • Ability to interpret client needs, identify and communicate issues, execute both BAU and non-BAU tasks.


  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.


  • Project management skills, particularly with respect to system maintenance and enhancement.


  • Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills



Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration.


  • 5-8 years' of regulatory reporting experience in banking industry.


  • Knowledge of SQL and/or other languages such as Python would be beneficial.

Salary Range:
$80,000 - $132,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
