PROJECT MANAGER
The Project Manager position at SGA|NW, a GF design company, reports to a Managing Director.

DESCRIPTION
Responsible for scope, schedule and budget. Work under the direction of a Managing Director and in cooperation with the Project Architect and Project Designer to develop high quality design on time and on budget.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires working closely with a team of in-house architects, interior designers, planners, landscape architects and consultants on multiple projects with a variety of project diversity throughout the Southeast to meet scheduled deliverables. The successful candidate must be a leader, self-starter, organized, flexible and possess a strong work ethic.

The following duties are normal for the position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.


  • Assist in project administrative functions such as tracking project budgets, invoicing and preparing cost-to-completes

  • Has full responsibility for managing all aspects of assigned projects, coordinates all aspects of assigned projects, and estimates scope of work

  • Responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects

  • Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to client satisfaction

  • Actively manages client budgets, schedules, and programs; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments

  • Estimates fees, determines scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts

  • Work closely with project architects on many aspects of the project

  • Total Management of project for firm, including
    • Owner coordination
      • Contracts, billings and collections

      • Scheduling

      • Program and other data, including written documentation

      • Reviews and written approvals

      • Bidding, negotiations, charges, etc.

      • Written authorization for all additional service items

  • Firm coordination
    • Project Profitability

    • Establish and monitor budget

    • Select consultants. Negotiate fees and place under contract

  • Generate architectural design concepts and/or manage project designer

  • Generate and manage development of architectural design drawings

  • Initiate Designer review to the extent necessary to maintain original design intent

  • Client Management

  • Develop the project plan, then manage, direct and coordinate it for duration of project

  • Report directly to the Managing Director matters that jeopardize success of project which cannot be resolved at intermediate levels of responsibility, as outlined above

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Professional degree in architecture from an accredited program

  • Professional licensure or in the process of becoming licensed

  • 8 or more years of experience in a professional design office

  • Ability to direct, mentor and coordinate work efforts of project team

  • Ability to manage projects, staff, client interaction and project design

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Strong project management skills, with demonstrated ability to work through the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques for project activities to meet the project requirements, through leadership, communication, time management, risk management, planning, negotiation and subject matter expertise

  • Ability to cultivate a professional presence through competence, reliability, honesty, integrity, respect for others, positivity, and thoughtfully listening

  • Graphic presentation skills, including hand drawing and computer rendering

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Proficiency in graphic software

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software

  • Proficiency in Revit

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard office setting, onsite at client locations and on construction/build sites.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
