Systems Administrators are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the information system's networks. The System Administrators are asked with creating, following, maintaining, and enforcing IT policies and procedures.  They make decisions that involve analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of available data in non-routine situations.  An essential part of the System Administrators' role is growing and maintaining their skills to keep pace with changes in the industry.

Essential Job Functions:


  • Network infrastructure and server design, implementation, and administration

    • Provides support for a variety of Operating Systems and Software application including Windows Server 2012R2, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Windows 10, Window 11, Microsoft Office.

    • Maintains both virtual and physical server infrastructure including Rack servers, blade servers and VMware virtual server environments.

    • Maintains and implements Microsoft Active Directory Domains including Domain Controller management, domain trust and replication, domain user and group management, permission and security, group policy objects and login scripts. 

    • Performs software patches and security updates during the specific maintenance time window. 

    • Develops and administers disaster recovery plans including local and cloud backup solutions.




  • Work with the user community to provide technical solutions to business problems.

    • Serves as a liaison between internal departments, external vendors, and senior staff.

    • Effectively communicates project information to personnel having limited technical backgrounds.

    • Conducts meetings with end-users to gather functional requirements and creates software requirements speciation documents following ISO Standards




  • Provide support to end-users via Help Desk support.

    • Perform desktop support on a request basis, documenting case history using ticketing systems.




  • Analyze and identify problems and provide solutions.

    • Develops and maintains a change control process to manage project scope and complexity and to facilitate prioritization of development activities.

    • Coordinates unit and integration testing as well as user acceptance testing.

    • Tracks and reports projects progress by establishing well-defined milestones, reviewing estimates, and providing status reports to senior staff.




  • Communications systems implementation and administration

    • Works closely with technical lead to develop software that will help meet the functional requirements as well as usability standards.

    • Reviews technical specifications for accuracy and completeness




  • Provide R&D relative to emerging technologies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Lends expertise to other job areas as required.

Minimum Experience and Expectations:


  • 3+ years of related experience

  • One day a week onsite rotation for both data center operations and IT service support

  • Participate in On-call rotation for critical system support after hours

  • Participate in Monthly maintenance

This position requires:


  • Advanced networking and security analysis skills

  • Experience with Cisco routing, switching, and security products

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux servers

  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with virtualization infrastructure on either Hyper-V or VMWare

  • Fundamental knowledge on SAN and NAS storages

This position will work on a Hybrid basis (coming into the office at least once a week) and working on-call, rotating weekends.  This is not your typical 9a-5p.  When working remotely, you must be self-motivated, possess excellent time management, and be highly organized in an environment where shifting priorities are the norm.  Reliable internet connection is a must!

ACR is committed to a total rewards compensation philosophy that includes base salary in addition to our full suite of comprehensive benefits (https://www.acr.org/-/media/ACR/NOINDEX/HR/ACR-Benefits-Overview.pdf).  ACR’s goal is to pay competitively and equitably.  It is typical for individuals to be hired in the entry to middle of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on each case’s circumstances.  A reasonable estimate of the range is $76,000 – $101,300.
