Director of Sales and Marketing at The Doe Run Company

Job Description:

The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing to assist the Vice President with all the commercial aspects of the sales and marketing department including global sales, marketing, contract negotiations, transportation, and customer service functions related to lead, lead alloys, and base metal concentrates. This position is based out of our St. Louis Corporate Office.


 


Responsibilities: 



  • Negotiate the lead metal sales and toll agreements and the concentrate sales toll agreements.

  • Oversee concentrate contract management, lead metal customer service, production planning, account management, and transportation.

  • Oversee raw material acquisition for recycling purposes.

  • Negotiate the by-product sales agreements.

  • Prepare the sales plan and raw material plan for the annual profit plan and monthly forecasts.

  • Regularly interface with customer and industry participants.   


Experience & Required Credentials: 



  • At least 5 years of management experience.

  • At least 10 years of account management and sales experience in the metals or concentrate business.

  • Bilingual preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field.

  • Preferred background or education in one of the physical sciences such as Chemistry or Metallurgy. 


Skills: 



  • Strong leadership skills in a department made up of various teams in a complex business. 

  • Strong computer skills. 

  • Working knowledge of global metals and concentrates industries preferred.

  • The ability to analyze and use data to make business, commercial, and budget decisions.

  • The ability to successfully work with customers and negotiate contracts and other agreements. 


Work Environment, Physical & Lifting Requirements: 



  • Work is generally performed in a standard office setting.  Domestic and international travel is required 25% of the time. 

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand, and walk.  Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.  Occasionally required to wear personal protective equipment when in operations. 

  • May be required to lift up to 15 pounds.
