ASC Endoscopy Supervisor - RN at Vancouver Clinic

Job Description:

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including two doses of a 2-dose series or a single dose of a 1-dose series prior to start date. Fully vaccinated is defined as 14 days post series completion date.

ENDOSCOPY SUITE / ASC - CLINICAL NURSE SUPERVISOR

Supervisor's daily work will encompass both supervisory and direct patient care responsibilities. The objective is to assist the department in achieving efficient work flow processes, high quality clinical outcomes, and exemplary patient and staff experiences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Personnel Development and Supervision:

  • Supervises hiring, orientation, scheduling, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and compliance with Clinic policies and procedures for the RN staff.

  • Supervise, assess, and direct the activities of individual staff members.

  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold staff accountable for successful job performance and work behavior.

  • Hire and place staff in clinics who have the right qualifications and ability to provide efficient work environment for both employees and providers, and who are supportive of the goals of the Clinic.

  • Use a management style which encourages and reinforces employee growth and development.

  • Model professional, proactive, and positive behavior.

  • Effectively orient staff to policies/procedures for the Clinic and to what is expected on the job.

  • Monthly scheduling of staff to meet department needs.

  • Oversee daily operations and responsibilities of "patient flow" within each assigned area.

  • Act as the second level, "go to person" for the providers and staff regarding troubleshooting issues.

  • Assist Clinical Nurse Manager with review of time cards.

  • Ensure smooth ASC Endoscopy operations with support, teamwork and generating a positive attitude between front and back clinic staff.


Leadership:

  • Act as a mentor, role model, and resource for co-workers with focus on the RN staff.

  • Facilitate the orientation and training of new and on-call staff.

  • Work with employees to solve basic employee relations and human resources-related matters. Determine when complex issues need to be escalated to the manager.

  • Train, communicate, and monitor any new processes to the department/unit.

  • Attend regular EHR training sessions and distribute new information to providers and staff through individual training and communication.

Quality and Process Improvement:


  • Help administer a clinical quality effectiveness program by working with the department Clinical Nurse Manager.

  • Promote a high quality of care delivery through protocols, evidenced based guidelines and programs designed to address patient needs.

  • Help ensure the quality and safety of health care services through active process improvement and activities.

  • Assist with the review and creation of workflows to aid in process improvement and efficient patient care delivery.

  • Support, promote and assist patient satisfaction initiatives throughout the department and Clinic as a whole.



SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Superior communication skills and interpersonal skills set.

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of clinical staff and providers regarding use of EHR, department specific skills, orders, medications, documentation, and short-cuts, and illustrate ease of use of EHR for all users.

  • First-line problem solving skills with the ability to listen, understand, and solve or escalate employee and provider issues before they become more serious.

  • Basic understanding of human resource laws and Clinic policies to increase staff satisfaction and productivity levels.

  • Ability to always demonstrate the highest level of performance and behavior standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Current unencumbered Washington State RN license.

  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS and ACLS CPR certification.

  • At least 2 years GI endoscopy experience and previous Lead Nurse experience preferred.

  • ACGN certification preferred.

  • Ability to successfully become a core-trainer and super user of EHR.

Pay Range:
$89,330.00 - $133,995.00

Benefits-eligible employees accrue PTO and Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked, totaling 120 hours in the first year for full time staff and 200 hours in the first year for full time supervisors and above, increasing in subsequent years. PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
