Description:
MacNeal has a robust 69-bed behavioral health department, consisting of 5 inpatient units. Our units care for a wide spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses. The selected candidate will provide constant and direct observation of patients with suicidal ideations and/or close observation for safety reasons under the supervision of unit staff.
The Patient Safety Observer will provide constant and direct observation of the patient with suicidal ideation.
Position Duties:
Provide one on one constant and direct observation of patient with suicidal ideation.
Provide one on one direct observation at all times when the patient leaves the unit for diagnostic studies.
Secure patient area for objects/equipment that may harm the patient. Obtain vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respirations, oximetry).
Support activities of daily living (ADL) under RN supervision.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education: Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
Preferred: Associates Degree
Specify Degree(s): CNA, or current nursing student
Residency: N/A
Minimum Experience: Required: Less than one year of previous job-related experience
Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience .
Managerial Experience: N/A Licensure/Certifications:
Required: CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
