This Senior Workday Analyst, HRMS role is responsible for support, configuration and testing on HRMS cross-functional projects which support a range of Company objectives and strategic priorities in many of the following functional areas: Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, and HCM Core. Reporting to the HRMS Manager, this role partners with HR leaders, HR Business Partners, Payroll, IT Operations, Internal Audit, and employees on a regular basis, as well as external HR vendors.

Ideal candidate will office from our Materion corporate headquarters in Mayfield Heights, OH (hybrid office/remote schedule); however, remote candidates will be considered.

You will have the opportunity to do:

  • Production Support - general production support for the Workday system covering all modules Materion owns

  • Report Writing - developing new reports, maintaining existing reports, troubleshooting reporting issues as needed

  • Enhancements - researching and understanding current Materion process in Workday, and finding ways to improve or enhance the individual process or the overall practice

  • Project Management - for production support, new implementations, enhancements, and release management as needed

  • Testing and Validation - including configuration change testing and validation, new implementation unit testing, release regression testing

  • Training and documentation opportunities


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, IT, or related field preferred, or equivalent years of experience (3-5 years)

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Workday configuration across multiple modules, including business process and reporting experience. Experience coordinating and/or managing HR technology projects

  • Workday Studio experience, and experience working for a multi-national firm with a shared service center model preferred

  • Working knowledge of general HR processes, procedures, controls, regulations, and compliance requirements

  • Strong planning and project management, presentation, and facilitation skills

  • Superior analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • Superior customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and effectively partner with peers across the enterprise

  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize workload, effectively managing conflicting priorities

  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
