Job Summary

Flagstar Bank is looking for an intern to join our Investor Claims team over the summer. As a Flagstar Intern you will have the opportunity to learn the daily functions and operations of our Investor Claims department. During this time, you will interact with team members and leaders to gain real-world experience by working alongside our team to learn our processes and improve efficiencies while expanding on the core concepts introduced throughout your college classes. Throughout your internship you will participate in multiple engagement sessions designed to enhance your career outlook, communication skills, and business knowledge.


Pay Range: Local Minimum Wage - $15.13 - $19.49



Job Responsibilities:



The position will be responsible for the oversight of vendor operations while making decisions and providing resolutions to ensure the compliance of Property Inspections and Hazard Claim filings for Damaged Properties. Projects will involve portfolio reconciliation process building for vacant properties, Establishing a Quality control process for inspections and automation of hazard claim support documentation process.



Job Requirements:



HS Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent Required


Current college/university student pursing a major in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Business Administration, IT, or related area of study required


Strong attention to detail, knowledge of the insurance, property preservation, mortgage default process


Strong written and verbal communication skills


Proven results in pipeline management


Ability to identify and meet procedural requirements


Strong analytical background


Ability to meet aggressive deadlines


Intermediate skills in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint


Experience with MS Access and Visio - preferred, not required


Ability to successfully manage multiple reporting requests in a deadline-driven environment and strong analytic skills
