Job Summary

Flagstar Bank is looking for an intern to join our Investor Claims team over the summer. As a Flagstar Intern you will have the opportunity to learn the daily functions and operations of our Investor Claims department. During this time, you will interact with team members and leaders to gain real-world experience by working alongside our team to learn our processes and improve efficiencies while expanding on the core concepts introduced throughout your college classes. Throughout your internship you will participate in multiple engagement sessions designed to enhance your career outlook, communication skills, and business knowledge.



Job Responsibilities:



Maintain and monitor a pipeline of Post Foreclosure and Post Loss Mitigation Claims via MSP, ancillary applications or Investor/Insurer websites.


Meet and exceed Investor and Insurer guideline requirements for the accurate and timely submission and reimbursement of Mortgage Claims.


Review mortgage documents for accuracy and mortgage servicing disbursements for claimability from Investors and Insurers.



Job Requirements:



HS Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent Required


Current college/university student pursing a major in Business/ Finance/ Computer Technology/ Mathematics


Excellent written / verbal communication skills


Pipeline and time-management skills


Self-starter, self-directed


Proven ability to distill complex information into easily understandable content.


Demonstrated ability to define and resolve problems, exercise sound judgement and make good decisions.


Ability to decipher complex payment histories.


Expansive knowledge of investor guidelines to increase claimable items.
