Job Summary

Flagstar Bank is looking for an intern to join our Servicing Business Risk & Quality team over the summer. As a Flagstar Intern you will have the opportunity to learn the daily functions and operations of our Servicing Business Risk & Quality department. During this time, you will interact with team members and leaders to gain real-world experience by working alongside our team to learn our processes and improve efficiencies while expanding on the core concepts introduced throughout your college classes. Throughout your internship you will participate in multiple engagement sessions designed to enhance your career outlook, communication skills, and business knowledge.


Pay Range: Local Minimum Wage - $15.13 - $19.49



Job Responsibilities:



Research and develop full narrative and action plans needed around all fee income collected during the process of servicing loans at Flagstar.


Work to ensure all GL accounts reconcile to fee income reporting in Tableau.


Work to narrate process of building automation to assist the addition and removal of stop codes.


Tracking process for operational loss events.


Establish methodology to capture these items to determine root cause analysis.


Establish process to reconcile operational loss event tracking ties out to the general ledger on a monthly basis.



Job Requirements:



HS Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent Required


Current college/university student pursing a major in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Business Administration, IT, or related area of study required


Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.


Interest in the financial services industry.


Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work product is required


Motivated to learn and improve operational processes


Able to demonstrate solid writing and verbal communication skills


Adjusts positively to quickly-changing priorities and shifting goals in a fast-paced environment


Strong numeric and problem-solving capabilities


Ability to manage projects in an effective and productive manner
