Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides direct management of Project Managers, overall backlog, and customer experience. Coordinates between customer and CSC sales, engineering, and operations to ensure completion of projects on time and within budget.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Manage and develop Project Managers for the region in accordance with the standard work set forth by the Director of Project Management.

  • Provide in site to the Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning (SIOP) process for the region including responsibility for maintaining appropriate backlog levels for the plants.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with significant CSC customers as a leader in customer experience.

  • Lead Progress Billing activities for the region and work closely with sales and accounting to maintain and manage a schedule of values for progress billing, in accordance with AIA guidelines.

  • Help Project Managers identify and present change order opportunities and monitor outstanding change order status for material and labor above and beyond the original contract.

  • Assist with prioritization of engineering and production tasks for to ensure CSC date commitments are kept.

  • Negotiate significant back charges with Project Managers for minimal financial impact to CSC.

  • Work with Credit Manager and Contracts Management on resolving contractual terms and payment issues.

  • Coordinate with Director of Project Management regards to transfer of work between plants and backlog stability.

  • Monitor workload of each PM and balance as needed. Work with Director of Project Management on necessary headcount adjustments and training.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives for continuous improvement of CSC operations.

  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with engineering, production, and other internal customers to facilitate successful projects.

  • Utilize CSC internal systems to manage projects and communicate with internal shareholders.

  • Coordinate and answer questions from the jobsite including from the steel erector and General Contractor.

REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering.

  • Ten years project management and/or sales experience in the non-residential construction industry.

  • Knowledge and understanding of building construction combined with steel design concepts presented on architectural and engineering drawings.

  • Ability to understand construction drawings and specifications

  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite software with experience using a CRM platform.

  • Effective written and verbal communications skills.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents, financial reports and legal documents.

  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, customer service, and presentation skills

  • Exceptional negotiation skills.

  • Ability to travel to jobsites as required


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus



WORK ENVIRONMENT:
General office and constant exposure to computer display. Routine exposure to steel fabrication environment and occasional outside weather conditions, excessive noise levels and is occasionally exposed to vibration. Seldom works near moving mechanical parts and is seldom exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Seldom works in high, precarious places and is seldom exposed to risk of electrical shock.
