Job Summary
Responsible for all cash and grant accounting functions.
Job Duties
Reconciles bank statements
Responsible for the preparation of reports and invoices for all Cleveland State Community College restricted fund programs, monitors grant budgets, assist grant writer with financial information, assists or prepares project closeout reports
Assists with year-end closing procedures associated with cash, grants, revenues, and student accounts receivables
Prepares and enter journal entries
Prepares various reports and assists with audits
Responsible for the reconciliation of clearing and receivable accounts
Works with the Director of Finance to recommend changes and implement new accounting processes as needed, monitors internal controls within area.
Participates in risk assessment process
Coordinates unclaimed property reports and procedures
Assist Director of Finance with fix asset management
Responsible for the reporting, reconciliation, and securing funding for student scholarship and financial aid restricted accounts
Performs other related duties as assigned
Prepares monthly sales tax return
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, business administration or related field.
Three (3) years of related work experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of accounting theories and practices involving auditing and accounting procedures
Knowledge of verbal and written communication skills consistent with interpreting policies and procedures, providing clear and concise information: compiling information into complete and accurate summaries and reports
Interpersonal skills consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others
Ability to operate a computer; to accurately process/control monetary transactions; to prioritize, delegate and manage work flow; to provide adequate training; maintain confidentiality, to work a flexible work schedule to meet changing work demands; to evaluate situations and make decisions using sound judgment
