The Physician Assistant (PA) role for Pediatric Neurosurgery supports both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities for the Pediatric Neurosurgery service line. The full team of PAs provide cross coverage support to clinical practices for all the Pediatric Neurosurgeons. Responsibilities include: inpatient care, outpatient clinic, phone/email triage of outpatient concerns, patient education, collaboration with consulting specialists, and precepting PA students. Primarily care for infants through young adults - everything from congenital malformations, tumors, and hydrocephalus, to cerebrovascular, neurotrauma, and stereotactic/functional neurosurgery.
Shifts: 8-hour day shifts
Qualifications:
Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistance Program
Licensed by the MD Board of Physicians.
Board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
CDS and DEA licensure
BLS Health Care Provider CPR certification required: AHA or Red Cross accepted
2 years of related inpatient neurosurgery/pediatric PA work experience
Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership Systems (PECOS) enrollment required
Relocation Bonus offered if moving 50 miles or greater
You must be fully credentialled by The Johns Hopkins Hospital medical board with staff privileges to start working.
