Position Summary:



Performs the tasks of drug ordering, receiving, storage and disbursement for the pharmacy division to which assigned. Maintains supply of defined list of drugs and updates electronic perpetual inventory system. Reports critical shortages to Division Leadership and assists in implementation of contingency plans. Assists pharmacy department employees with procurement of drugs and supplies not available through routine channels or when urgently needed. Actively maintain medication and supply par levels to automate re-ordering systems. Serves as liaison to wholesaler and hospital purchasing/accounts payable for drug procurement issues. Other duties as assigned.



Education:



High School Diploma, knowledge of drug procurement practices



Work Experience:



2 years experience in pharmacy procurement or other relevant supply chain management is desired.



Licensure, Certification, Etc.



CPhT (PTCB) certification required and Maryland registration as a pharmacy technician required.



Knowledge Skills Abilities:



Familiarity with drug and vendor names is required. Ability to use web applicationsfor drug procurement/payment is required. Ability to use spreadsheet applications is required.


Interpersonal skills to communicate necessary information to pharmacy and other hospital/health system employees as well as external vendors.
