Job Description SummaryThe Associate Client Applications Administrator is responsible for configuration, management and continuous improvement of software and operating systems used by students, faculty, and staff at Wake Forest University. Using enterprise platforms such as Microsoft SCCM, Jamf and other tools, the Administrator will refine and tailor these environments for the most effective and secure experience for the unique needs of our university. The individual has a collaborative role with other partners within Information Systems, and across the university, and is a key advocate for Wake Forest through relationships with our vendors.
Job Description


Essential Functions:



  • Manages and maintains the Windows device management platform (SCCM/MBAM) and fosters relationships with vendors to identify and provide best solutions for our platform.

  • Manages, maintains, and is subject-matter expert for the University's computer back-up system (CrashPlan).

  • Works closely with Windows System Architect to provide requests and testing for Group Policy Objects needed within our domain.

  • Manages restorative and maintenance actions either remotely or at the end user's location to resolve problems, using experienced troubleshooting and technical skills.

  • Provides back-up support and management of the Apple management platform (Jamf|Pro).

  • Researches, investigates and resolves incidents where standard procedures and troubleshooting is not providing a solution for the customer.

  • Works on complex projects and issues; contributes to the development of University priorities surrounding the computing and software landscapes.

  • Regularly interacts with senior management to provide high-level or detailed updates on ongoing efforts or incidents.

  • Engages with customers, sometimes in advocating for more advisable actions, purchases, or alternative solutions.

  • Provides status reports, problem summaries, and project statuses for the benefit of colleagues.

  • Recommends systems modifications to improve user experience.

  • Occasional work may be required after hours and/or weekends and on-call, as specified by the supervisor.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Additional Job Description


Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:



  • Bachelor's degree and 3-4 years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two or more years experience in enterprise device management systems.

  • Experience with MacOS and Windows OS environments.




Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:



  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field, plus five years of related professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and Apple operating systems.

  • Advanced knowledge of computer management.

  • Experience in SCCM and Jamf device management platforms.

  • Advanced knowledge of PowerShell and other Windows scripting.

  • Experience in an enterprise environment, with a preference for experience in higher education.
