Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Event Medicine Specialist I provide on-site medical care during mass gathering events (e.g., sporting events, concerts, or other recreational gatherings). Event Medicine Specialist I work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to coordinate the response to illness and injury for event spectators and participants.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: One year of BLS-level experience as a released attendant-in-charge.
Licensure: Virginia Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Advanced EMT (AEMT) certification. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Unrestricted Valid Driver's License. Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) Class II or higher.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling, climbing (ladder, steps), and driving. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, noise, outdoor climate, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
