Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting the design and ongoing development of GROW Center training programs and activities. Expected to collaborate with GROW Center staff and external expert consultants toward the creation of robust hybrid (i.e., online and in-person) learning opportunities for the child welfare workforce and other tangential family- and child-serving roles.

  • Collaborates with GROW Center staff and Florida child welfare stakeholders to curate leadership training resources and materials. Facilitates various training opportunities in an in-person or virtual space.

  • Collaborates with the Program Director and Program Manager of Science and Research to include evaluation components into GROW Center training activities.

  • Collaborates with OPS or consultant content writers, curriculum developers, and trainers as needed.

  • Contributes to the overall functioning of the Institute, which includes, but is not limited to: 1) participation in staff meetings; 2) serving as an Institute representative in local, statewide, or national professional workgroups; 3) contributing to regular or ongoing Institute initiatives (e.g., annual symposium) as needed; and 4) participation in professional development activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience (Note: or a post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

  • Three years of online and in-person training facilitation experience or three years of related experience in the design, development, and delivery of staff training/professional development

  • Knowledge of the principles of training

  • Ability to apply training best practices and instructional design principles

  • Knowledge of evaluation and analysis methods for content and delivery processes

  • Ability to apply quality methods of instruction for adult learners

  • Ability to write and assess learning objectives

  • Ability to evaluate, audit, deduce, and/or assess data and/or information using established criteria, showing good judgment in the vetting process

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standard to meet variations in assigned objectives

  • Strong customer relationship skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet aggressive deadlines

  • Ability to apply principles of persuasion and/or influence

  • Ability to work varying shifts to meet training schedule needs

Preferred

Experience with Online Training Facilitation, Experience with course authoring tools such as PowerPoint, Articulate RISE and Storyline, and Adobe Captivate, Knowledge of Learning Management Systems

Other Information

The Institute's GROW Center will house several of the components of Senate Bill 1326 and create a dynamic through-line from classroom to casework to retain workers who grow, competently, into leaders at all levels of the workforce. Florida's child welfare system has experienced challenges with stabilizing and sustaining their professional workforce. The GROW Center will be the heart of the Institute's professional advancement offerings and will facilitate all management and administrative tasks, curriculum development, and coordination of activities.

Anticipated Salary Range

$45,000-$55,000; commensurate with education and experience
