Full Time (40 hours)

Day Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Weekend work required

Non-Exempt; Pay Grade: UG

Position Summary:

Performs construction, maintenance, inspection, adjustment, repair, and modification work on building Fire Rated and Smoke Barrier Walls, in accordance with compartmentation guidelines. This work is performed under general supervision using the tools and techniques of life safety technology.


High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience:

Requires 5 years related work experience. Must be capable of independent judgment and have excellent interpersonal skills.


  • Basic Carpentry and Hand Tool Skills
  • Knowledge of Life Safety Wall, UL Assemblies , NFPA 221, and IBC Building Standards.
    Knowledge and understanding of the various Firestop Products and their capabilities
  • Ability to repair/construct a Fire Rated Wall Assembly
  • Basic computer skills needed for Wall Inspection data entry.
  • Understanding of the Fireproofing Material on Structural Steel and Decking.
  • Support all Facilities Shops as needed.
