Inpatient Esophageal Airway Treatment Service


APRN/PA, Full time


POSITION SUMMARY:


The Esophageal and Airway Treatment (EAT) Program at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital cares for infants, children and young adults with complex esophageal and airway problems. Led by esophageal and airway expert Jason Smithers, M.D., our dedicated team combines compassionate care, innovative techniques and cutting-edge technology and equipment to treat babies and children with esophageal and airway concerns. The EATS APRN/PA will work closely with the team, patients, and families in mainly the inpatient settings, but also some outpatient settings as well.


Provides patient centered, specialized, evidence based nursing care across the continuum through an inter-professional approach to treatment, research, education and advocacy. APRN's and PA's are board-certified providers that assume responsibility and accountability for health stabilization, promotion, and maintenance of acute and chronic illness or injury. APRN's contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Florida Board of Nursing and JHACH policy.
PA's assume responsibility and accountability for health stabilization, promotion, and maintenance of acute and chronic illness or injury under the supervision of a physician. Through collaborative practice with all members of the care team, this role is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by JHACH.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Clinical Master's Degree in Nursing or DNP.

  • Current Florida State Licensure as APRN.

  • Current BLS, AHA.

  • Current National Certification as a: Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care

  • If currently certified as a PNP-AC
