Sibley Memorial Hospital has an immediate opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic with a strong plumbing background.

Perform all necessary functions in the operation, preventive maintenance, and repairs of within the facility. While this position will entail general maintenance, we are seeking someone with a strong plumbing background.
Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot and diagnose various equipment issues, disassemble machines, and repair or replace broken parts.
May orders replacement parts and equipment with management approval. Inspects completed repairs.
May repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, air conditioners, etc.


Hours: 7AM to 3:30PM. Some weekend work required.


MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


HS Diploma or GED
3 or more years of related experience.
Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
2. Significant walking or other means of mobility.
3. Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
4. Ability to work in tight and/or elevated locations (lifts, rooftops, ladders)
5. May be required to climb ladders
6. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.
