POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides developmental screeenings/evaluations/assessments for infants and toddlers in home and community-based settings to comply with Federal, State and Local Early Steps policies and procedures.
Serves as Early Interventionist and/or Service Coordinator to meet the needs of selected enrolled children.
Participates in the education of families, health care workers and community agencies to expand their respective knowledge of the Early Steps Program, Part C services, early child development, and family-centered service delivery.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Participates in the Early Steps interdisciplinary team, providing developmental evaluations across designated sites or within natural environments using the state-mandated appropriate assessment/screening tools
2. Maintains effective communication and positive working relationships in Early Steps during provision of Early Intervention/service coordination to ensure family centered care
3. Complies with all billing and documentation requirements of the Early Steps program to meet state and local guidelines
4. Represents Early Steps and participates in community events to provide appropriate family-centered support/education for community partners
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree
4 years developmental testing/diagnostic experience with infant and toddlers within a multidisciplinary team
1 year experience in the area of early intervention
Certification by Florida Department of Health
Enrollment in the Florida Medicaid system
Ability to travel to various work locations is required
Administer Developmental Evaluations
Battelle Developmental Inventory (BDI-2) and Ages & Stages Questionnaires
