Shift:



Full Time (40 hours)


Day Shift; 6:30am-5:00pm; weekend work not required

Position Summary:


The OR Nursing Coordinator is responsible for facilitating delegated administrative and clinical activities for nursing in a functional unit. This person possesses the clinical and management knowledge and ability to provide guidance and assistance to nursing personnel and other health care team members in patient care situations. He/she facilitates interpretation/implementation of policies and standards.



Education:



Baccalaureate degree from an accredited school of nursing.



Licensure/Certification:



Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Maryland.



Required Work Experience:


Minimum of three (3) years of related OR clinical nursing work experience.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge Clinical expertise related to patient population.
• Knowledge and capability to use computers.
• Knowledge of management and education principles.
• Knowledge of current health care environment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with all members of the interdisciplinary health care team to enhance collaboration and problem solving.
• Ability to incorporate into practice advanced clinical and theoretical concepts with patients, families, nursing staff, and other disciplines.
• Ability to analyze, synthesize, and summarize information to make judgments regarding patient care and staffing issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in order to provide information to patients and health care personnel.
