Nursing Practice and Professional Development Specialist - Health System Oncology Position



The Johns Hopkins Health System is looking for Nurse Educators to join their growing team! As a Nursing Practice and Professional Development Specialist (NPPDS), you would be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs and activities for various nursing departments. You will play a vital role in leading change in pursuit of improved nursing practice and professional development. This position is an exciting opportunity to provide education to staff and patients throughout all oncology care sites in the Johns Hopkins Health System. Responsibilities include: onboarding of new staff, maintaining education for existing staff, and ensuring compliance with hospital and Joint Commission policies and standards as well as the Commission on Cancer Accreditation.


Over 300 patients are treated daily in the JHM ambulatory infusion sites and there are 120 inpatient oncology beds throughout JHM. Patients consist of solid and hematologic malignancies and include standard of care, research, cellular therapies and immunotherapies. This role will support the Oncology Clinical Program Director to provide staff training and education across the health system at multiple locations including Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Green Spring Station, Howard County General Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Suburban Hospital, and 8 Wellspan Ambulatory Infusion sites located near the MD/PA line.


The ideal candidate will have acute care experience in Oncology in an academic hospital and experience in the field of nursing education.





Who Should Apply:

• Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing
• Current registered nurse licensure in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and DC
• Active BLS CPR certification
• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in Oncology
