The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Clinical Manager for Emergency Medicine is responsible for performing many patient-oriented tasks such as interviewing patients, taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering laboratory tests, making tentative diagnosis, and prescribing appropriate treatments. Responsible for overall management of the non-attending staff. Creation of staff schedule. Coordination of resident schedules. Staff Performance evaluations. Recruitment and hiring of PA/NP staff. In conjunction with Chair and Supervising Physician, evaluates and makes recommendations regarding staff requests for promotion. Member of ED Executive Committee. Works in conjunction with PA Residency leadership in an effort to maximize learning and training opportunities. provides health care services to patients in an emergency and trauma unit under the direction and responsibility of a physician.


The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (JHBMC) is an academic hospital. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/johns_hopkins_bayview/medical_services/emergency_trauma/ The Emergency Department (ED) has approximately 50,000 visits annually. There are 39 patient care rooms, 6 are trauma/critical care resuscitation rooms, 6 fast track and a secure 13 bed psychiatric unit. JHBMC is a level 2 trauma center and Maryland's only regional burn center. Tour our medical campus.





Schedule:
full-time, day shifts; some weekends as needed




Qualifications:



  • Completion of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an ARC Physician Assistant Program; Master's or Doctorate Degree from an acreditted Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Current Maryland Physician Assistant license or Maryland RN & Acute Care NP certification
  • Current BLS Healthcare provider and ACLS certification required
  • 2-years of Emergency room work experience and 2 years of supervisory/management experience; 4+ years highly preferred
