The Lead Oncology Social Worker functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team who has clinical social work expertise. She/he is a clinical resource, advocate and educator with the goal of providing counseling and other supportive services to patients and families receiving cancer care at Sibley. She/he manages the Masters of Social Work (MSW) Internship Program and provides supervision to all MSW Interns. Also acts as a consultant to physicians and Sibley staff regarding psychosocial issues, community resources and financial needs.



Minimum Education and Experience:

1. Licensed to practice as a Social Worker in the District of Columbia.
2. Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited school.
3. 4-8 years social work experience in a health care setting preferred.
4. Current CPR Certification required.
