Position Summary:



The Bloomberg Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) uses the knowledge and concepts related to respiratory care to evaluate and recommend appropriate treatment for patients with cardiopulmonary compromise. All RCPs will demonstrate competency in setting up, operating, delivering, and discontinuing medical gas therapy, humidity therapy, inhaled medication therapy, bronchial hygiene therapy, invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, emergency care/resuscitation, airway management, and arterial/capillary blood gas sampling and interpretation to patients with cardiopulmonary complications. Bloomberg RCP participates in daily clinical care, transport, education, and consultation. Other duties as assigned.



Education:



Minimum Associates Degree in Respiratory Care (or equivalent) required. Graduation from a Registered Respiratory Therapy Program approved by the Commission For The Accreditation Of Respiratory Care Education (CoARC). Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or other associated bachelor's degree preferred.



Work Experience:



One year of critical care experience required to move to RCP- Advanced level and beyond.



Licensure/Certifications:



Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) Required. Maryland State License Required. B.L.S. Required. N.R.P required to work in the NICU. PALS required for RCP-Advanced staff.


Neonatal airway placement competency required for RCP - Adv Cross-trained staff. All credentials must be maintained with active status.



Shift:



Full Time (40 hours)


Night Shift/Times varies/Weekend work required
