Day Shift, 7:00am/8:00am - 5:30pm/6:30pm

Position Summary:



Assist physicians in performing invasive procedures, coordinating care in an assigned room, and providing patient care. Responsible for optimizing team performance by participating as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team.



Education:


Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic Technology required. AA degree preferred.



Work Experience:



Minimum of two and half years experience in CVIL.Must have been a CVRT II at Johns Hopkins for a minimum of one year with optimal evaluations OR comparable outside experience. Must be full-time employee.Must not have any active disciplinary infraction for the year.



Required Licensure, Certification:



Must be licensed by the State of Maryland Board of Physicians Quality Assurance as a Medical Radiation Technologist.Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.Current ACLS/BLS Certification required.CI or CV Registry is required or in Electrophysiology: Must have CI, CV, RCES, or HRS Certification.



Knowledge/Skills:

• Possesses advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology within specialty of Diagnostic/Interventional Cardiology or Electrophysiology. Proficient in correlating radiographic and hemodynamic findings with the associated disease process. For electrophysiology, the ability to correlate the surface ECG and intracardiac ECG's with advanced arrhythmias and to correlate the arrhythmias to cardiac anatomy through the use of 3D mapping. Anticipates supplies and imaging modalities that may be needed during the procedure.
• Operates all radiographic and ancillary equipment within discipline. Possesses extensive knowledge of all guidewires, catheters and ablation systems. Utilizes imaging techniques which provide diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for specific cardiac procedures. Demonstrates skills to effectively direct a team or oversee daily patient flow operations. Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that foster optimal team performance and quality patient care. Possesses the knowledge of basic PC skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, and email.
