Shift:



Full Time (40 hours)


Day Shift; 8:00am - 4:30pm


Weekend work required



Position Summary:



Provide nursing leadership in the Nursing Division of Oncology by providing guidance to the PCMs/Assist PCMs in unit and personal goal setting and assessment of goal obtainment and actions needed to meet the goals. Provides continuous evaluation of the clinical care being provided ensuring that all standards of nursing practice and regulatory agencies are being met. Provide guidance to PCMs in managing performance issues. Ensure that all personnel, hospital, nursing and payroll policies are being followed. Provide guidance to PCMs/Assist PCMs in assessing problems and developing/implementing solutions.



Education/Experience:



Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Master's degree in nursing and five years of previous experience, including management experience.



Licensure/Certification:



Current state licensure as Registered Nurse required. Annual certification in CPR is required. Masters Degree in Nursing with a minimum of 5 years in the specialty . Previous management experience, 2 years minimum.



Knowledge/Skills:


  • Work requires the analytical skills necessary to resolve problems requiring a professional level of knowledge in a specific discipline/field and/or improve, enhance or upgrade complex clinical, financial, data processing, marketing or human resources systems and programs.
  • Work requires the communication skills necessary to effectively manage the employees within assigned department and to persuade and negotiate with peer-level managers on issues and programs that impact the department. Work requires effectively dealing with conflicting views or issues and mediating fair and workable solutions.
  • Analytical ability necessary to oversee, direct, and evaluate objectives and operations of nursing department; develop and administer sound policies, procedures, budgets, and standards; identify and respond to deficiencies; and initiate corrective actions to achieve desired results.
  • Must complete the Training Checklist for Managers and Supervisors (described in the Training Catalog under Management Development Curriculum) within twelve months of employment/promotion date.
