The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position, teaching four courses per semester. Minimum salary is $57,000 for the academic year plus health benefits. Qualified applicants will have a PhD, with a demonstrated track-record of excellence in teaching, and expertise in at least one of the following areas: Feminist Philosophy, Philosophy of Law and Legal Reasoning, Social or Political Philosophy, African American philosophy, or Applied Ethics. The Department of Philosophy currently consists of seven faculty members, conducting pure and applied research with specializations in Africana Philosophy, Philosophy of Race, Philosophy of Law, and Pragmatism. It offers a BA degree in Philosophy and is a leading unit in the Bioethics Interdisciplinary major. In collaboration with the Howard University Law School, the Department also offers a 3+3 BA-JD program.
