Job Summary:
Collaborate on new product development efforts. Under management supervision, provide physics support to the Applied Physics Division at 4S - Silversword in office and laboratory environments with a variety of moderate to complex tasks and functional activity.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare concepts for Free Space Optical (FSO) communications system design.
Serve as subject matter expert on the development and refine operating parameters and requirements for FSO systems.
Manage technical aspect of Phase Array Antenna project.
Manage technical aspect of optical switch and other optical sensor projects.
Provide expertise in the development of next generation Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) technology.
Assist in writing reports, plans, proposals, operational documentation, patents, and other documents as required.
Works well in a team environment.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
10-20 years of relevant experience as a research Physicist or higher degree in lieu of experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Physics from an accredited institution
Extensive experience designing FSO systems, FOG components, and other optical sensors is required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and technical development software is required.

Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 50 lbs.
