Assists the Supervisor in monitoring the operations of designated areas to ensure that service standards and financial goals are met.
Contributes significantly in developing and is responsible for implementation of goals and standards.
Trains and directs technologists and others in the specialized testing techniques and ensures staff remains within acceptable competency levels to meet Laboratory Services, CAP, TJC, State of Maryland requirements for compliance.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:
A baccalaureate degree (B.S.) in Medical Technology or related science is required
Licensure/Certification/Registration: MT (ASCP) or equivalent is required
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
Five year's experience in the relevant discipline in a clinical laboratory is required
Experience in other related clinical laboratory disciplines helpful
Experience with training or education preferred
Experience with staff supervision is preferred
