Job Description:

Overview

The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time basis in the Collision Repair department. 

 

Qualifications


Education:

-Associate degree in Collision Repair Technology or a related discipline. (Minimum)-Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification in an area to be taught. (Desired)-Bachelor's Degree in Vocational Education, Engineering Technology, or related discipline. (Desired) 

 


Experience:

-Three  (3) years of relevant trade experience. (Minimum)-Teaching experience at the secondary or postsecondary school level. (Desired) 

 


Abilities and Skills:

-Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, faculty, and the public. (Minimum)

-Sensitivity to expectations of students, faculty, and staff. (Minimum)-Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. (Minimum)-Developed organizational skills. (Minimum)-Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues. (Minimum)-Functional ability with or aptitude to learn microcomputer applications and estimating/management software utilized in the program. (Minimum) 

 

Responsibilities

-Instruct and evaluate students in Live Work area who are performing general maintenance and repairs on automobiles in the collision department. (Essential)-Provide instruction in shop safety and other assigned areas which may include refinishing, body straightening, auto graphics, mechanical repairs, and computer estimating. (Essential)-Maintain accurate written records of student performance. (Essential)-Assume responsibility for development, coordination, and maintenance of the collision repair Laboratory. (Essential)-Complete official student rosters and return to School office as required. (Essential)-Attend Department meetings as requested. (Essential)

Physical Standards:

-Getting on and off frame rack.-Working in tight quarters 

 


Special Job Features:

-Finalist must present a sample lesson.-Candidates for teaching positions must be fluent in the English language (oral and written) - English Fluency in Higher Education Act. (Pennsylvania Senate Bill 539/Act No. 76)-Background check will be required on selected candidate.

Pay TransparencyThe part-time rate for 2022/23 will be the greater of $1140 per credit or $760 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $47.50 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.College Statement
