Hybrid Model- 3 days remote; 2 days on site
Provides clinical services with patients and families that address psychosocial, environmental, age specific and cultural issues in order to maximize emotional, social and physical well being and the effective/efficient use of health care and community resources. Conducts psychosocial assessments, provides intervention/treatment as indicated. Experience with CBT a plus.Works effectively as part of an interdisciplinary health care team. Takes leadership role in discharge planning and outpatient continuity of care. Provides Hospital risk management and public relations. Collaborates with other health care professionals. Provides social work consultation to other disciplines within the Hospital and community. Facilitates clinical education of social work students. Participates on Departmental and Hospital committees.
Clinical Practice
Screens patients who request service, are referred, or meet Departmental screening criteria for identifying patient needs.
Provides psychosocial assessments of patients and families. Formulates diagnosis, disposition, and treatment plans. Employs clinical services such as individual (adult, adolescent and child), couples, family, and group therapy; crisis intervention and some case management. Advocates on behalf of patients and/or their families to gain access to services and resources. Half of this position will be spent working with pediatrics for short term parenting and child interventions. Strong understanding of child development and experience working with families will be important.
Facilitates the appropriate and efficient use of Hospital resources.
Presents and/or discusses clinical work in formal and informal settings and seminars.
May participate in research projects.
Collaboration
Collaborates and consults with patient, families, professionals, and providers inside and outside the hospital. Refers to and collaborates with interdepartmental specialists and programs, outside agencies, facilities, payors, and other relevant community resources.
Organizational/Administrative Skills
Takes responsibility for own administrative duties, including timely and appropriate documentation in patient medical records, timely and accurate daily reporting of activities via the Department's management information system, and accurate reporting of time worked.
Attends and participates in unit meetings, division meetings, and staff meetings.
Professional Conduct
Adheres to the profession's clinical standards and code of ethics.
Adheres to the Department and Hospital standards, policies and procedures.
Promotes Departmental and Hospital public relations.
Professional Development
Participates in supervision as appropriate to his/her level of professional development. May assist with or supervise undergraduate and graduate social work students and staff.
Is responsible for own professional development. Attends pertinent continuing education and professional activities related to job responsibilities and career goals. Keeps current with social work and health care developments pertinent to job and profession. Complies with licensure requirements.

Requirements
MSW required
Current LICSW in Massachusetts required. LCSW would be considered
2 years social work experience required. Experience with children, adults, and families; CBT experience a plus
Fluency in Spanish required
Strong assessment and treatment skills
Good organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective team collaboration
Demonstrated ability to understand the role of social worker in a hospital setting and to work in a complex, fast paced environment
