The Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation is currently accepting applications for a full time Administrative Assistant for the Director of Judicial Branch Education (JBE). This position is responsible for administrative support work for the upper-level management at JBE. Work involves the handling of judicial and trial court education, performing complex support and related clerical duties, and involves decision making responsibilities requiring considerable organization skills.

Examples of Work
Work involves, but is not limited to, tracking employee's education status and maintains digital records of credits for judges, court and probation staff; maintaining and compiling education materials; issuing RFPs for conference space and determining locations for live education; assisting in planning and coordinating various education meetings and training events including registrations; attending meetings and conferences as required; taking minutes; composing drafts of proceedings; preparing and distributing agendas, schedules, and other material; performing other related functions regarding judicial branch education as the position requires.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from high school with at least four years of administrative secretarial or general secretarial experience in a law or business office.
PREFERRED: College degree and considerable experience in event coordination is preferred. The ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required. Equivalent education or experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to establish and cultivate good working relationships with coworkers, individuals in positions of authority, criminal justice agencies, compacting states, field officers, and the general public.
• To organize and manage time and work space, and working knowledge of modern office equipment, including software applications, telephone and video conferencing.
• Knowledge of the judicial branch of government, the organizational structure of the Nebraska Probation/Court System.
• Proficient in developing, navigating and reporting data from spreadsheets.
• Experience planning and hosting events.
• Working knowledge of technology and modern office equipment, including computer hardware and software applications.
