Our Innovation Team is looking for a Technical Writer to aid in the quoting process for custom automation solutions. This role will be involved in the creation of solutions to automate manual processes. The Technical Writer will include the pricing of components, labor and all engineering services to automate the manual process.

Essential Functions
Work with multiple documents concurrently while communicating progress to stakeholders.
Create proposals and document status and progress, delivery and/or timeline risks, and plans for the successful completion of selected RFP's.
Collaborate with SMEs across Cross Automation to obtain appropriate content for project inquiries.
Act as a focal point for questions concerning specifics of quotes and proposals
Participate in customer meetings to review proposals.
Ability to lead proposal review meetings when required.
Possess good understanding of the quoting (bid) process to maximize profitability.
Minimum Requirements
Associates Degree in mechanical engineering (with min of 2 years work related experience) or BSME. (preferred)
Fluent in reading, editing, and creating spreadsheets
Strong grasp of written and verbal english (grammar, punctuation, etc.)
Experience with GSuite in a collaborative environment (mainly Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.)
Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Experience in written and verbal communication in a technical setting
Experience in quoting time and materials, custom automation project quoting experience prefered.
Experience in meeting requirements and deadlines by internal and external customers
Ability to read and comprehend technical specification documents
Interpreting Gantt charts and other project management documents
Ability to work individually or in a group to meet quotation timelines
Able to communicate effectively with people across a wide variety of departments and roles (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, vendors, etc.)
Travel - 10% to 20% with occasional travel to customer site.
Able to translate non-technical communication into technical specifications
