Job Description




Position Overview



As an Analyst, Renewable Development you will be responsible for supporting development, permitting, and regulatory compliance tasks as part of Invenergy's New York development team. Invenergy is developing and constructing renewable energy projects (i.e. wind, solar, and energy storage) to meet New York State's nation-leading climate change goals to build 70% renewable energy by 2030. This role will include interfacing with consultants, contractors, and internal departments to support development of permit application materials, certificate/permit condition-specific plans for approval by agencies, compliance filings as prescribed in each project's certificate or siting permit, and other associated project development-related tasks.



Responsibilities



  • As part of Invenergy's Development team, support the preparation of application materials and response to agency data requests related to ongoing SEQRA, Article 10, Article VII, and 94-c applications.

  • As part of Invenergy's Development team, support development of compliance filings in accordance with an Article 10 or Article VII certificate, or 94-c siting permit.

  • Coordinate with internal Environmental Compliance and Strategy, Engineering, and Project Management departments, as well as external consultants and contractors, to ensure all compliance requirements are met (e.g., state siting requirements, federal regulations, and internal obligations).

  • Collaborate with multiple internal teams to track submittals to meet condition requirements of State agencies (e.g., New York State Department of Public Service [DPS], Office of Renewable Energy Siting [ORES], New York State Department of Environmental Conservation [NYSDEC]).

  • Support development of federal permit applications, such as under Sections 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act though the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

  • Support development and maintenance of project application and compliance filing schedules.

  • Participate in regional and national initiatives, symposia, conferences, and industry groups as needed to achieve Invenergy's objectives.




Requirements



  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with large teams.

  • Experience with environmental regulations (e.g., Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act) or experience in preparation of Article VII, Article 10, and/or 94-c applications to the DPS or ORES.

  • Strong problem-solving and written/oral communication skills.

  • Must be self-directed and detail-oriented, with the ability and desire to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Able to act and adapt to a fast-paced business environment with competing deadlines.

  • Approximately 30% travel for team and agency meetings and site visits to project areas.

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in the energy industry associated with permitting, regulatory compliance, or project development.




Preferred



  • One to three years of experience within the New York renewable energy industry.

  • Experience with Article VII, Article 10, and 94-c application preparation and compliance filing development.
