Summary:

The IT Manager Quality Assurance, Connected Vehicle, Information Technology is responsible for providing thought leadership for testing principles, strategy, and testing execution of Subaru's Connected Vehicle (telematics) technologies. This position leads a team that works in close partnership with the development teams supporting Connected Vehicle technologies in the US, Japan, and Canada with plans to expand into more international markets in the coming years. This person will support Subaru's objective to bring exceptional digital experiences to our customers.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Connected Vehicle Quality Assurance Strategy Roadmap Development - work with manager, peers, internal and external partners to establish strategic direction and actionable roadmap for quality assurance to our connected vehicles platform.
  • Connected Vehicle Test Strategy and Execution - oversee quality testing deliverables including validating the completeness, accuracy, quality of test plans, execution, and test case results. Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics and applying industry best practices while developing new processes to ensure quality goals are met. Oversees all test events including, but not limited to joint integration testing (JIT), testing workshops (WS), user acceptance testing (UAT), vehicle testing, performance testing, load testing, automated testing, regression, and integration testing with vendor partners. Has ownership to the development of standards and processes for all test events. Provide reporting and data analytics.
  • Budget Management -develop the annual business plan and operating budget for connected vehicle quality assurance. Includes monitoring spend, allocating resources and adjusting forecast as necessary to ensure that the financial targets are met.
  • Team Leadership - provide leadership to and work daily with direct reports, contract resources and vendor partners to deliver project objectives, manage day to day operations and overcome obstacles that jeopardize service quality
  • Team Management - provide and manage development plans, training opportunities, goal setting for the team in a manner that enables Subaru's goal of attracting and retaining talent
  • Subaru Collaboration - represent the Connected Vehicle Quality Assurance team to Subaru of America, Subaru of Japan (SBR), and counterparts, communicating key activities and risks while alleviating team challenges
  • Vendor Management - ensure SLA adherence, engage in discovery of solutions, participate in RFP and RFQ processes and partner with legal counsel on contracts
  • Service Management - negotiate service level agreements with service providers as well as internal and external partners while monitoring service delivery to ensure that targets and standards are met

Skill Requirements:

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with automation testing tools (Selenium a plus)
  • Experience with load and performance testing tools
  • Experience with testing tracking tools
  • Experience developing and leading quality assurance testing team within a Telematics or Connected Vehicle business to consumer technologies
  • Experience working in the automotive industry
  • Smart device interactions (Voice and Watch)
  • California Consumer Protection Act (CCPA)
  • Web Accessibility Standards (WCAG Level AA)
  • Agile product management or corporate development experience
  • MBA or other relevant advanced degrees

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid work environment - remote work possible two days per week

Education Requirements:

BA/BS and 8 to 10 years of related experience

Work Environment:

Hybrid Role - Remote work 2 days per week (After 90 Days Onboarding)

Salary Range:

The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000 - $154,500. Individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. (Internal Pay Grade: M2)
