Job Description:

Position Summary:

Responsible for maintenance of high speed automated assembly machines. Also assists with maintenance of horizontal injection molding machines. This is a 3rd shift position with work hours of 11:30pm-7:30am.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Promotes an atmosphere conscience of health, safety, and environmental practices, in support of the Leonard HSE/EMS policies daily.

  • Performs daily job duties to the objectives outlined in the Quality Policy.

  • Understands and performs daily job duties in a manner which supports the Plant goals and Quality objectives.

  • Responsible for demand and preventive maintenance in assembly and molding.

  • Communicates status of machine demand maintenance items with the operator and team leader to ensure safe operation of process and logical throughput.

  • Consults with other maintenance personnel, maintenance team leader and engineering at appropriate intervals regarding machine downtime issues.

  • Completes maintenance log daily regarding demand maintenance issues from the shift.

  • Responsible for the improvement of O.E.E. numbers with a focus on minimizing machine downtime.

Education and Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma required.

  • Strong knowledge/background with pneumatics and electronics expertise is a plus.

  • Previous machine maintenance experience preferred; knowledge of automation type equipment and vision systems preferred.

  • Mechanical experience required.

Work Environment/Work Conditions:


  • Position reports to Engineering Technician (Maintenance Supervisor)

  • No direct reports.

  • Production floor environment.

  • Walking, dexterity, and noise performed 67-100% of the time. Standing, reaching mid to high, hearing, vision, depth perception, color performed 34-66% of the time. Sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, crouching performed 1-33% of the time.
