  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree or master's degree program in one of the following: Industrial Engineering, Continuous Improvement Engineering, Business, Mechanical Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Seeking strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a self-directed or team environment.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and SAP is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in CAD and MiniTop is a plus.
  • Relevant internship/work/research experience preferred.
  • Comfortable with exposure to a manufacturing environment.

The Continuous Improvement/Industrial Intern position will be located in Niles, Oh. We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join our team as an Engineer Summer Intern. This position will assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery performance through process control and product improvement initiatives.

Intern Summer Project: Project Charter with timeline.

Under the direction of the Continuous Improvement Manager, this position is responsible for supporting and assisting the Continuous Improvement Organization, planning, implementation, and follow-through of continuous improvement initiatives. Correspondingly, the incumbent coordinates and leads a wide range of activities that are designed to improve on-time delivery, productivity, quality, cost, safety, and environmental performance.

Daily Job Duties and Goals to be accomplished:


    • Support the business growth of lean manufacturing.

    • Deploy and audit lean tools to enhance key focus areas within mill.

    • Overall support of the Hoshin plan.

    • Assist department leaders in team skill and knowledge development to support meeting management goals, project aims, improvements, result measurements, and problem solving.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: able to develop and use structured approaches to identify root causes and recommend resolutions.
