The Regional Medical Manager II is a member of the Workers’ Compensation (WC) discipline and is responsible for the Medical Management programs and services for the WC Direct Handle department and Specialty Programs within the assigned territory. The Regional Medical Manager II is responsible for developing and implementing strategics plans for managed care, cost containment and disability management programs and leads a team of nurses, including Regional Medical Managers, WC and Casualty Nurse Consultants, Telephonic Case Managers, and/or Medication Management Specialists.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
1) Provides strong medical program leadership as part of the North America (NA) claims leadership team.
2) Creates and manages ongoing education and training of Medical Management team, Claim Staff, Chubb Business Consultants and insureds on all aspects of medical case management and managed care. Serves as a resource for the region on medical aspects of claims.
3) Maintains ongoing leadership and collaboration across the Medical Management leadership team regarding managed care programs for WC and/or Casualty claims. Assists with identifying cost drivers for medical expenses and establishing programs that will reduce costs associated with identified cost drivers.
4) Evaluates staffing needs and collaborates with Senior Managers and co-leaders to recruit and hire talented candidates with growth potential and interest. Optimizes productivity of medical case management staff and resource allocation among offices in the region.
5) Improves operational efficiency by streamlining processes, managing vendor relationships, and leveraging technology.
6) Establishes vendor guidelines and monitors adherence to standards. Develops a measurement for overall effectiveness to determine cost benefit.
7) Applies knowledge and expertise to create and implement new strategies to contain costs and/or in response to regulatory changes.
The pay range for the role is $117,000 to $189,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
