JOB DESCRIPTION: The Director Patient Care Services and Nursing Operations is accountable for administrative and operational oversight within Nursing and Patient Care Services for the Physician Group Practices (PGP) and across all ambulatory care areas. Accountable for oversight of Ambulatory nursing annual operating plan actions, patient flow activities, staffing optimization, clinical staff operations, nursing quality improvement and change management associated with expansion and capacity. Reports directly to the Vice President Patient Care Services, Chief Nursing Officer of Ambulatory Practice. Partner with leadership to direct clinical staff operations for all ambulatory areas; ensuring excellent patient care, clinical efficiencies and compliance. Collaborates, innovates and integrates services across the ambulatory care areas and across the continuum of care including standardization where appropriate, policies and procedures, and staff competencies. Oversees and manages operations of ambulatory wide programs as part of strategic operating plan including nursing quality metrics and initiatives to monitor outcomes and processes of care to promote quality services and avoid financial disincentives. Provides leadership and management of ambulatory nursing education, residency programs and external program collaborations. Establishes priorities for workflow initiatives and care team models in concert with the CNO, COO and CMO. Utilizes performance improvement expertise to enable high reliability operational improvement outcomes. Utilizes appropriate resources to create analytics/decision support to meet organizational commitments. Embraces and utilizes Lean daily operating model, encourages open lines of communication among Patient Care Services leaders, staff, administrators and physicians. Applies this method consistently to achieve goals as outlined in annual operating plan and budget through daily huddles, leader rounding, and 5S activities, as appropriate. Collaborates with nursing leaders to provide training on process improvement, design of and implementation of processes and structures to strengthen and engage front line leadership. Attends key nursing and patient care leadership meetings and participates in decisions making. Create reliable ways to leverage the collective unique experience and perspectives of all of our people to achieve organizational goals as specified in annual operating plan. Handles management projects as assigned by executive leadership team. Serves as a role model for team leaders and staff by exemplary performance, commitment to PGP and its mission, goals and vision. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES REQUIRED: Excellent written, verbal, analytical and communication. Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and innovative problem solving. Change agent with the ability to facilitate, teach, coach and act as a strategic partner for the organization.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Master's in nursing, business or health related field. Licensed registered nurse in the State of Georgia. Seven years of progressively increasing levels of leadership in complex health organizations with proven results required. Experience in a multi-hospital system environment preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitator, teacher, coach, strategic partner, process orientation, knowledge of basic financial acumen.
