ROLE PURPOSE:  The purpose of the Accountant role is to provide timely, accurate processing of financial data in support of monthly financial reporting requirements.

MAJOR ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Timely processing of accounting documents and journal entries.


• Reconciliation of sub-ledgers and balance sheet accounts.


• Activities may include A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets, Prepaids, Collections, Sales & Use Taxes

KEY COMPETENCIES:

• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy while working with vendors, customers, and all levels of employees


• Ability to work independently and as strong contributor to team projects


• Proficient at time management and determining procedure cost-effectiveness


• Ability to effectively communicate challenges and propose solutions


• High level of accuracy with strong attention to details


• Agility in shifting between deep-dive details and broader business perspectives

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION and CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred in Accounting but not required)


• 2+ years accounting experience (preferred but internships will be considered)


• Intermediate level skills with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)

JOB LOCATION: Within travel distance of Brattleboro, Vermont in a hybrid work environment with 2 days per week in the office typical.
