As the Associate Manager, Issues Management and Crisis Communications, you will report to the Global Media Relations and Issues Management Director and help support the company's crisis communications and issues management strategies focused on strengthening SC Johnson's corporate brand reputation and focus on corporate reputation by being proactive in understanding potential issues that could impact the company, and its extensive brand portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the team in providing support on issues management and crisis communications by tracking non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and trade associations

  • Engage and perform duties for special Corporate Reputation Initiatives projects as assigned

  • Help drive SCJ's corporate storytelling through earned and paid media planning and execution including media events and interviews that require on-site support

  • Help analyze key performance indicators to provide communications insights, informing leaders of trends and best practices

  • Support initiatives aimed at driving strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through personal training and development

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:


  • Bachelor's degree in at least one of the following areas: communications, marketing, public relations, marketing, or related field degree

  • 5+ years communication experience in corporate, government, PR agency or similar

  • Experience with issues management and crisis communications

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:


  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with global consumer brands is a plus

  • Have a thorough understanding of the contemporary media ecosystem and how it pertains to building corporate reputation

  • Ability to function effectively in a demanding, fast-paced, and constantly changing work environment

  • Strong competencies in key performance indicators for earned and paid media

  • Proven ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams in support of specific business priorities

  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills

  • Able to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Advanced computer skills

  • High level of professional integrity and discretion

Job Requirements:


  • Full time

  • Remote work is available once a week for eligible employees
