As our company has continued to grow, we are investing in the capabilities of our FP&A organization. The Commercial Cost Analyst is a newly created position, reporting to the Global FP&A Manager, that will be responsible for analyzing and tracking the cost of goods and services for the organization. This individual will help to build out a global database of key cost elements from our ERP, analyze data to inform pricing decisions, and develop reports and presentations to communicate cost information to stakeholders including the CEO, CFO, Chief Commercial Officer & global sales force.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead initiative to structure & build a database to track the various cost elements of the business (e.g. direct material, freight, labor, etc.) to enable BI reporting in partnership with IT & Commercial teams
Develop and maintain processes for tracking and updating cost data on an ongoing basis, including standard costs used within the commission calculation processes & reporting for field sales representatives
Partner with Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst, IT and Commercial Leadership to create reporting & analytical tools to enable analysis of commercial performance, pricing increases & variable compensation calculations
Build exception reports to flag key changes in cost elements to enable product line management to drive customer margin maintenance & pricing increases
Partner with IT to build out ERP enhancements to enable changes & improvements to underlying transactions to enable reporting enhancements
Develop & roll out contribution margin statements at the sales rep level to enable performance management of field sales teams & customer profitability
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
1-3 years of experience in a finance team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Excel and other financial analysis tools
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Experience with SQL, Alteryx, or PowerBI a plus, but not required
EDUCATION REQUREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
